Long story short
Dell aimed to present High-Performance Computing (HPC) in an accessible way by highlighting its impactful outcomes. Instead of a traditional case study, an engaging eBook with a ‘Seven Wonders of the HPC World’ theme was created. This project included both static and animated versions to offer diverse digital experiences within a content marketing strategy. The animated eBook, crafted using InDesign, Cinema 4D, and After Effects, showcased striking visuals of cosmic imagery, Earth, and microscopic materials, all adhering to Dell’s brand guidelines.
The animated eBook's success was affirmed by winning the ‘Best Use of an E-Book’ award at the 2023 Content Marketing Awards. This success led Dell Technologies to commission more interactive projects, leveraging the team's motion graphics, video, and copywriting skills.

Challenge
Dell Technologies’ high-performance computing (HPC) solutions are reshaping human progress, from enhancing AI models to discovering cures for new diseases. Having initially commissioned a single HPC case study, Dell and partner AMD realised they had more examples of significant supercomputer-powered progress to share.
Dell wanted to demonstrate HPC’s implementation on a scale both intimate and vast. Although a technical subject, its messaging needed to cater to an audience with zero technical understanding, instead focusing on the grander outcomes HPC has produced.
Solution
We recommended expanding from a case study to an eBook, with visuals to accompany a ‘Seven Wonders of the HPC World’ theme.
Static and animated versions were produced to offer different digital experiences within a content marketing strategy, while the animated eBook would incorporate spectacular visuals connecting the technology to real, identifiable outcomes.
Created using InDesign, Cinema 4D and After Effects, our animated eBook was hosted online. Dell and AMD could easily share the link for their audience to access via their web browser.
The array of subjects included in the animated eBook gave us immense scope from a visual perspective. From captivating cosmos imagery and sublime shots of the Earth, to microscopic materials and fizzling foam cells, the animations bring HPC’s vast possibilities to life – all while adhering to Dell’s distinctive visual brand guidelines.
Results
We were thrilled to win the ‘Best Use of an E-Book’ award at the 2023 Content Marketing Awards, seeing off tough competition in the process.
Buoyed by the eBook’s success, Dell Technologies have commissioned us to work on other interactive projects that allow us to flex our in-house motion graphics, video and copywriting expertise.
